STATE MOUNTAIN BIKE CHAMPIONSHIP RACE ANNOUNCED

After over a ten year absence from the TBRA calendar, Tennessee mountain bike racers will have the opportunity to compete for the title of state champion.

In past years, TBRA has recognized champions in many different disciplines including; road race, criterium, time trial and cyclocross.

“I am very excited to see that we are bringing back a MTB State Championship Race to Tennessee. This event will provide an opportunity for Tennessee racers to win state championship jerseys and district medals. In addition, the race will provide an elevated points scale for our year-long TORBAR series. Overall, I believe these factors will result in a large and competitive field at this event.” Michael Edens - TBRA MTB Director

The TBRA board of directors has selected the second Gallatin Lock 4 race on September 18 as the host for the event. “Biker’s Choice and the city of Gallatin are excited and proud to host the 2011 MTB State Championship. We want to thank TBRA for recognizing our venue and event. We value our events as fun, fair, fast and competitive, and look forward to putting on an event that represents cross country mountain bike racing at its finest." David Hardin – The Bikers Choice

While the race is open to all racers holding an annual or one-day USA Cycling license, only Tennessee residents with an annual license will be eligible for the championship jersey and medals.
