2011-2012 TBRA PRELIMINARY CYCLOCROSS RACE SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED
The 2011-2012 TBRA Cyclocross Racing Schedule, featuring over 25 races across the state, was announced this week by the TBRA Cyclocross Director, Dwayne Letterman. TBRA is excited to offer its 2011-2012 season of Tennessee’s cyclocross races that span the entire state and offer racers of all abilities the opportunity to compete for cowbell glory.
The 2011-12 TBRA Points Series will begin on September 17 with the first installment of the Mud, Sweat and Gears series in upper East Tennessee. The UCI will also be making a return visit to TN on December 10 at the Kingsport Cyclocross Cup. We are also excited about the Outdoors Incorporated Cyclocross Championship that will be celebrating its 25th anniversary, marking one of the longest running cyclocross races in the country.
We are also welcoming a first time race on the calendar with the City of Covington Barbeque Festival race. We hope to see you in Tipton County for some barbeque and cyclocross action in what we hope becomes a new fall tradition in West Tennessee.
In an attempt to bring more transparency to the state race selection process, the TBRA board has asked all interested promoters to submit bids to host the 2011-2012 State Championship Race. These bids are due on August 8 with an announcement on August 15.
