Nashville, TN. (August 6, 2012)—Featuring over 20 races across the state, the 2011-2012 Tennessee Bike Racing Association (TBRA) Cyclocross Racing Schedule was announced this week by the TBRA Cyclocross Director, Jeremy Nagoshiner. TBRA is excited to offer its 2012-2013 season of Tennessee's cyclocross races that span the entire state and offer racers of all abilities the opportunity to compete.

The 2012-13 TBRA Points Series will begin on September 22 in Chattanooga, Tennessee and concluding on December 16 in Nashville. We are happy to welcome back the many longstanding series like: Mud, Sweat and Gears in Upper East Tennessee, the Cross the Way and McEwan Cyclocross Festival in Middle Tennessee and Knoxie Cross and the Knoxvelo Series in Knoxville. We are also happy to see the sport grow through new events by Hub Endurance in Chattanooga and Swiftwick/Cumberland Transit in Middle Tennessee. We also want to highlight the longest running cross race in Tennessee, the Outdoors Incorporated Mid-South Cyclocross Championship in Memphis.

In a departure from the previous two seasons, all qualified events, running September thru December will be a part of the TBAR series. A racer's 12 best finishes will count towards the TBAR Championship. We will also be counting field points to award those racers that compete in the bigger and more demanding fields.

In an attempt to bring more transparency to the state race selection process, the TBRA board has asked all interested promoters to submit bids to host the 2012-2013 State Championship Race. These bids are due on August 14 with an announcement on August 20.

The 2012-2013 Cyclocross Schedule is posted on the TBRA website here.
